"I'm torn about how to review this product. I absolutely love how it removes hair from my face painlessly. With that said, it has a very short lifespan. I have purchased three so far. Quite frankly, that is very frustrating. It works so well until around the time the batteries need to be changed, then it no longer works. It appers to become dull. It seems like such a waste of money to continue buying something like this. I would not even mind if I had to replace it once a year, but it only lasts for a few months. It would be great if the makers could sell blade replacements. It is a waste of money and landfill space when a product like this has such a short lifespan. I would give this product a 5 for how it works at first, but I will give it a 2 because it just doesn't last for very long."

"MY COUSIN GAVE ME THE EPISLIM AND YES IT DID HURT IN THE BEGINING BUT AFTER THE FIRST TIME OMG!!!!!!!! I HAD TO GIVE ONE TO MY MOM AND MY DAUGTHER.... THE BEST THE BEST TRY IT!!!!"

"I have had my EpiSlim since 2005. I use it on my upper lip and chin. It gets rid of those occasional little black hairs and removes my "mustache" with just a slight sting. Since the hair is removed by the roots I don't have to use it very often. Why get more expensive hair removers when this one does the job?"

"I am new to this type of hair removal and found this product very easy to use. You put the batteries in and turn it on. I have the chin hair issue and this unit removed all of the hair quick & easy. Pain?...none really. I think tweezing hurts more."

"I have to admit it is a little painful, but something you get used to. The hairs grow back much thinner and some don't grow back at all. Yay!! For all the ladies out there, if we can bear children we can do this."

"Let's be honest here, Yes it will pull and hurt, but seriously you get use to it, I just bucked up and said, do you want hair on your chin and upper lip, do you want to spend a ton of money for laser or, do this?!
This is my new best friend, I use this about every 2-3 weeks but there is less hair on my face then there use to be, I bought this about 2 years ago. the hair is lots easier to remove.
Oh I never got en-grown hairs in all the time I have used this but, I'm only speaking for myself
You all know that to be beautiful we have to go through some pains this is so worth it. If we can have babie's ladie's then this is a breeze! ."

"I'm a 54 menopausal women who has been shaving, waxing, tweezing - you name it - chin and upper lip hairs for about 10 years. I notice all of this made the hairs multiply and get darker and thicker.... So about a year ago I purchased this product. I have to admit - it's not pleasant to use but I've tolerated the uncomfortableness because I've noticed it's helping to lessen the amount of hair, make it softer and thinner......I use to "touch up" my face daily, now I do it once every couple of weeks. I'm now ordering my 2nd one as I'm noticing it's not working as well as it once did. Don't worry about "in-grown" hairs at first - they will work themselves out - just like when my daughter had when she tried very expensive laser hair removal....that only worked for about 3 months!!! TRY IT - REGULARLY and YOU"ll SEE FOR YOURSELF....(I've only used it on my chin an upper lips - too bulky for eyebrow areas....)"

"If you like ingrown hair on your face, then this is the product for you!
It hurts alot and left me with bumps on my chin area where the hairs (which are too small to pluck or see) were before I foolishly used this item. There was a similar item years ago and it was just as painful. I should have known better!"

"OKAY, IAM NEW TO ALL THIS EPI STUFF,WASN'T TOO SURE WHAT TO EXPECT. SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE AND WANTED TO TRY THIS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO SHAVING THE BIKINI AREA. FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS AND WENT TO WORK, DIDN'T THINK IT HURT TOO BAD,BUT IT DIDN'T WORK TOO GREAT EITHER. IT IS PRETTY POWERFUL AND DID SEE THE HAIR COMING OUT, BUT IT SEEMS THAT IT WILL TAKE FOREVER TO GET THE JOB DONE, THEN YOU WILL FIND STRAY HAIRS THAT WERE MISSED, I SAY GIVE IT A TRY MAYBE FOR SMALL JOBS, BUT I THINK THE OLD SHAVING IS BETTER FOR ME, MAYBE B/C I HAVE LIGHT HAIR TO BEGIN WITH, OH, WELL STILL HAVE 29 DAYS TO DECIDE! "I received this little epilator as a gift after buying myself the Emjoi total tweez all over epilator and I love them both this one I use on my face because I found it to be gentle and compact so I can take it with me wherever I go and the total tweez I use on my legs because it works better on that area, if your considering purchasing it I say go for it, just remember to give it more than one try I think youll be happy if you do because the more you use it the better you are with it and the less it hurts......I give it a defenite 5 star rating because it beats shaving, plucking,and even waxing because who has the time this is quick and easy......loove it"

Like many of the other reviews I have read when I first tried this hair remover it hurt and I was sending it back, but decided to give it another try and found that it really does work if you use it as directed and the pain was not nearly as bad if you keep up with the regular care.
I then took it with me on a few days away with my sister, she also has to wax on a regular basis she gave me that deer in the head lights look when I told her how well the hair remover works, so she decided to try...
I am back to buy a replacement.
So here is my 5 stars for another great product that QVC has introduced to me.

"I had never used an epilator until today when I got my Emjoi EpiSlim Portable Hair Remover. It is positively fabulous because it removed all the chin hair that I had been unsuccessful at trying to remove with tweezers. Some of the reviews made me hesitant because of complaints of pain, skin sensitivity and hair not being removed as expected.
I had no problems even though my skin is sensitive. There is a prickly sensation but it is far easier than using tweezers and far less uncomfortable. I suppose we each have our own pain threshold.

"In the fifteen years I've been removing my unwanted hair, I've tried it all: waxing, shaving, threading, tweezing, bad chemical depilatories that leave me with chemical burns, etc. My skin has a lot of pigment in it, so waxing always caused post-traumatic hyperpigmentation, so even though the hair was gone, the "shadow" it created on my skin for several weeks defeated part of the purpose!
Enter Emjoi, which I first saw on Q-Check (love Shawn!), and I figured I would probably be disappointed. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO BE WRONG!
This is the best hair removal tool I've ever used. And it's inexpensive. Already it's saved me over $60 per month because I don't have to get waxed anymore. It's easy to use, and while you can feel it, it doesn't hurt the way waxing and tweezing can. No burns, no cuts, no bad smell, no scarring, NO HAIR!
Love it, love it, love it...you get the idea.
If you get ingrown hairs, exfoliate and use Tend Skin, and then use this baby. I use this one on my body and will be buying another one for my face. Have already recommended this to all the (hairy) women in my family and we'll never look back.

"I had high hopes for this product and was greatly disappointed. I did not consider it to be painful.. just a little tingly. I followed directions as instructed but it did not work well for me. It removed the hair, but then I developed in-grown hair after a week's time. I would not recommend this product. I sent it back."

"I was skeptical about this product, but I gave it a try. At first it did hurt, but as I got used to the feeling, the pain went away entirely. It just feels like a constant tingling, which after a while feels like nothing at all! Once you get a feel for the product, you'll see that it works great. I used it on my legs, and it removed almost all the hairs. It's like getting a wax without the pain. You get lasting results (4 or more weeks) without the tears and the mess!! No sticky wax and no pulling on the skin - which makes waxing so painful. I recommend this to everyone!"

"I bought this after spending way too much money on waxing each month only to have a few of those little hairs pop up in between waxing. I used this on my face as well as my legs and it's a breeze. There's no discomfort and it feels like tweezing only quicker. I use it weekly now and haven't had to go for a waxing since I got it. I love that I can use it after my shower and I'm always surprised when I feel it remove a hair that I didn't even know was there. For the money, you can't go wrong. As far as it being noisy, it's no different than a shaver and since it's battery operated, you just have to expect to hear it while it's running. I wouldn't be without mine now. I just love it."

"I just received my Epi-Slim and used it immediately and I had fantastic results. I don't understand the reviews that claim discomfort, because I experienced none at all. In fact, compared to waxing, it was a breeze. I followed the recommended steps, used after washing my face, before applying my moisturizer, and it worked perfectly. I have peach-fuzz and several stubborn darker hairs around my upper lip and under my lower lip, and the Epi-Slim was safe, quick and efficient. I would recommend this to anyone who is tired of spending $ every few weeks on waxing. Great product QVC. Another satisfied customer - Jo from Minnesota"
