"The carafe really keeps the coffee warm for hours! This is a wonderful design and I don't have to worry about that burnt taste you get when you leave the coffeemaker on too long. Its perfect for when couples have different schedules and can't share coffee the same time in the morning. I really am pleased and highly recommend for all coffee lovers. The only thing I would change is the amount of coffee this brews. I would prefer a 12-14 cup, instead of a 10 cup brewer. Otherwise, its perfect!"

"....a HOT cup of coffee. This is a great coffee maker. It is fast, quiet and produces delicious and HOT coffee. Love the timer option and that the carafe keeps my coffee HOT (did I mention I like HOT coffee?) for hours. No worrying about if I remembered to shut the coffee off before work. I didn't have any trouble with the lid as other reviewers mention. It is tall and sleek and perfect in my small kitchen."

No Burnt Taste

"My husband and I are recently retired and enjoy many mornings of lingering over coffee. However, our previous coffee maker would produce strong tasting coffee after sitting on a warmer for an hour. This Zojirushi has solved the problem. We make the coffee and it stays hot for several hours with no change in taste. Yes, the filters are slightly too large, but the arm that dispenses the water easily clears the filter and there has never been a problem of a filter accidently folding over as with our old maker.
It also looks very nice sitting on our counter and we appreciate the quality of the product. It compliments our fresh ground beans well."

"I am thrilled with this coffee maker! I did a lot of research before ordering this, and I'm glad I did. It makes excellent coffee and stays warm for hours.
Regarding some of the complaints:
Filters not fitting: #4 filters are what's called for. They do fit, you just have to push them down very slighty - not a big deal.
You can set the carafe back onto the stand after you put the cap on.
The lid: It is tough to screw on and off - it would be hard for someone with arthritis. Luckily, I keep the coffee pot near the sink, so I just reach for a rubber glove when I open/close the lid. The good taste & the fact it stays hot for a long time trumps the lid problem for me."

"Ok, I read all the reviews before I bought it. What sold me was that even the ones who had complains and little gliches, had said that it made good coffee.
Ok now for my 2 cents. The coffee is great! Best coffee ever! The coffee taste like coffee made at a high class resturant. Stays warm for hours. The lid isn't too hard for me, but I can see where it would be a pain for some people. You might need some kind of gloves if you have tender hands.
The taste of the coffee out weights the lid issue or any gliches, I waited my whole
life for coffee like this."

"I have bought many coffee makers but this one is the best. I love the fact that I can keep it on the table and it stays hot a long time in the thermal pot. I also waste less coffee because hours later it is still hot and no bitter or burnt taste'."

"Bought it based on good reviews. It's poorly engineered. If you have arthritis, don't buy it, the top is very difficult to turn, even hurts with the ridges. Probably impossible if you have arthritis. Once you brew the coffee, you have to pull it out of the maker and put this little cap on top (which you remove to brew). With the extra "cap" on the lid, you cannot place the carafe back in the maker, so you take up twice as much counter space. It doesn't taste any better than my old Mr. Coffee machine. Should have returned it within the 30 day period."

"I recently purchased this coffee maker after my Oster of 30 years finally gave it up. I found this coffee maker to make very good coffee, however, it does NOT keep the coffee hot! I also feel it is not very substantial in construction and somewhat awkard in the controls. I am not entirely happy with it but it DOES make good coffee."

"I purchased this coffee maker several months ago based in part from the reviews on this website and I was not disappointed.
The coffee maker looks very nice, is easy to use and brews a nice hot pot quickly. I have had no problem with the coffee staying warm, as some people have reported and the machine breaks down nicely for cleaning.
The only problem I have had is with paper filters. They don't fit perfectly into the holder (a touch too big) however permanent filters fit great. In my opinion this minor quirk is not problematic enough to drop this coffee maker from 5 stars to 4. It's simply a great coffee maker."

"This is the third brand of caraffe coffee maker I've owned over the years. This is my favorite for design, good brewing, and length of time the coffee stays very warm. My only complaint is the same as one of the other customers....the lid is uncomfortable to open. The ribbed edges are almost painful to your hand if you have it shut too tightly. I hope the manufacturer can change that design for future models. Until then, I'll just wrap a cloth around it. Otherwise, I do recommend this, especially for the price."

"This coffeemaker makes coffee quickly and is easy to use, however for anyone with arthritis, the lid may pose some difficulties. The coffee pot lid is thin and ribbed, making it difficult to grasp and turn in order to pour the coffee and then close the lid to keep the coffee warm. I have to use a rubber grip to open and close this lid, and to protect my fingers from the ribbing. Also, if you only make a few cups--I make 4--the coffee will stay warm for awhile, but not for hours--I think a larger amount of coffee is necessary for it to stay warm for longer periods of time. Overall, it makes a hot cup of coffee with good flavor. Hope this helps!"

"I bought this coffeemaker primarily because of the thermal carafe but found that the carafe does not keep the coffee hot for any appreciable length of time even if instructions were followed to the letter. The carafe does NOT hold the heat.

"This makes the best coffee I've had at home. Keeps it warm all day long. Am planning to order a back-up unit. I don't use the timer function, so can't comment on that. The best thing is that the carafe doesn't dribble when you pour a cup of coffee. I also like that there is no warmer to forget to turn off. The carafe is most excellent at keeping things warm, but you need to be careful not to close too tightly or it is a bit tough to open. Also, it helps to fold the filter a bit short so the water arm doesn't catch when you close the lid."

"This Coffee Maker is perfect in every way. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for 12 hours as long as you follow the simple rules and close the lid and put the top on. I bought a gold filter for it and the coffee is wonderful. The footprint isn't too large to fit on my small counter. I make it in the evening and with the automatic timer the coffee is ready in the AM for my drinking pleasure all day long. This is a winner!"

"I have been though plenty of coffee makers and NONE hold a candle to this one. It keeps your cofee hot and very fresh for hours so you waste less coffee. Built very well and sturdy, but the cover is a little hard on you hands but I use a towel to open it no bother worth it definitely!!! I may buy a back up..."
