"I purchased this breadmaker from QVC about a month ago and have made a 2 lb loaf every week using the recipe for white bread that is printed on the side of the machine. Yyesterday I cut down the amount of sugar from 4 to 3 tsps. with no loss in quality of the bread. I have made 2 loaves for a special friend and she and her husband both love the bread. I am not new to bread makers....been using them since they first came out. I am hoping and praying that my "Zoe" continues to make delicious bread. Next loaf I will try a light wheat bread by substituting 1 cup of the bread flour with whole wheat and see what happens. I am also going to make my next pizza dough in the bread machine instead of using my food processor. I'm a little confused and not sure about using the homemade settings. It is a very neat machine and fits nicely on my kitchen counter. So far every loaf has turned out perfect (am keeping my fingers crossed). By the way, the flour I use is King Arthur's Bread Flour. A friend gifted me with 5 lbs of Kylor flour from the Amish....it's a wonderful high gluten flour but I can't purchase it locally so will use King Arthur's which is also excellent.
I hesitated at first before purchasing this machine because of the price, but is is worth every penny, especially if it continues to work as well as it is at this time.
Those of you who had a problem with burning should send it back for another machine as it may have a bad thermostat (or whatever). Mine's wonderful and a keeper!"
