Less expensive than Central Air

"I recieved my Amcor AC about three weeks ago. We were having a heat wave here in Co, which is unusual for us to have 90+ heat. I had purchased a evaporated cooler at the Hardware store the week before, but returned it. It was just a step above a box fan. I then ordered this air conditioner online. It is heavy, and a bit dificult to take out of the box. I am a widow in my 60's, but I managed to unpack it, set it up, and even had to cut the window kit down to fit my double hung window. I turned it on, and nothing happened. I was so disappointed. Then I read that you should not tilt it. My neighbor had brought it into the house, and he tilted it. Also I tilted it to unpack it. The manual says, if it has been tilted, you have to wait at least 2 hours to turn it on. I waited, and it works wonderfully. The low speed is all I have used so far. The high speed makes it a bit too cold. It keeps a large space nice and cool. I may just buy another for my upstairs."

"Other than the fact that it blew my circuit breaker the first night I got it, this this is for real. I work from home with (3) computers, (4) videorecorders, (4) TV's, (2) printers, and it gets HOT in this room. I am incredibly grateful for a unit that is easy to setup and use and I can finally work in a cool environment! It is loud but then again they all are - but it's not terribly loud, it's totally bearable."

"I was excited to try out this air conditioner and get rid of the bulky, heavy window unit in my bedroom. I liked all aspects about it, but sadly the unit would never cool my average-size bedroom below 77 degrees. I contacted the company no less than 4 times to try to get the problem resolved. Several times I had to wait 3 to 4 days for a call-back from them. I tried everything they told me to do to troubleshoot the problem, but the problem was never resolved and I had no choice but to pack it back up and return it to QVC. I ended up purchasing a portable air conditioner of a different brand from a local store and it works beautifully."

"I received this the day before the fourth of July. I set it up myself although it was heavy. the biggest problem was the connector of the hose in the back of the unit kept coming off. fixed it with a little tape. That is my only complaint oterwise I have never slept better and I don't have to chill out the whole house with the central unit."

"Just in time for 95 degree weather. I got home today and found this on my front door. My husband set it up in less then five minutes and so far it is working great!"

First QVC Order Disappointment

"Though very easy to assemble, the unit is extrememly heavy for one person to get
out of the box. This particular unit did not satisfactorily cool the smallest bedroom in my home. Hate "swamp coolers" so will research further before going to the refrigerated air conversion expence. QVC has great customer service and will continue purchacing through them as I have for over a decade."

"We have an open floor plan with the living room/dining area running together and there are several sliders with plenty of windows - 400sq.ft. of area. Living in Florida this time of year, we are having 90+F weather and very high humidity. Let me tell you, this unit is working great keeping it nice and comfy! The air blowing is ice cold and we actually have to lower the fan speed and raise the temp a bit at night, because we catch a chill. We have central air conditioning, however the unit is very old and has a hard time keeping up these days. This Amcor unit is the perfect solution! A new central A/C system would cost $7 grand, easily.For a few hundred bucks we can have the same comfort and not go broke! We may purchase a second Amcor for the other areas of the house. Thanks QVC for making QUALITY products for an AFORDABLE price. We are very pleased!"

"We are in Upstate NY and our apartment was built with no AC so on 80-90 degree days I was toasty. I bought one of these in hopes of easing the heat. It keeps my down stairs area completely cool (Kitchen,living room dining room). Granted my upstairs is hot still (Need to get anotherone). I Love this!!!!!!!!!!"

"I have very large windows in my 400 sq ft livingroom so we wanted to try a portable unit. It's been 90+ the past few days, perfect time to test it out. I live on a second floor and the sun beats down on the room in the afternoon. So far it's been great - we haven't had to empty water out of it and it cools nicely."

"I plugged it in, hooked up the vent and this unit worked great. My whole family sat in the TV room because it was so cold and comfortable. I want to purchase another one for my work area."

"we got this about a month ago. iam very happy with it, we actually are using it in the living room which also is connected to the dinning room and also a long hallway so its pretty open i wasnt sure wed get any cooling. but we are quite comfy. we put an osculating fan at the hallway entrance to blow the cool air back towards the living room which seems to work well. iam really happy with the unit and i ordered a secon one today for daughters room. no complaints here!!!"

"I'm nervous about giving a good review because sometimes stuff happens AFTER I do but I will cautiously say I'm happy with mine. Yes, there is noise but there will be noise with any conditioner unless it is central and the unit is outside, Yes, I do have to empty the water, but it is still easier than a cumbersome window unit and more attractive and cleaner, and it does the job of cooling. And I can wheel it out of the way when I'm not using it."

"I bought this for my sons room and it cools it perfectly. We do have to empty the water out of it everyday but we are in a very humid climate. He loves it and it was easy to setup."
