It covers areas up to 1900 square feet, with a nine-gallon output per day. "Have gotten 2 Essick Humidifiers in last couple of weeks. I have a big house and have a 2 yr old humidifier that is on my new furnace but humidifier isn't working this year. Instead of calling repairman, I decided to spend my money instead on a portable one. Seems like the cleaner way to go. Didn't need to humidify my basement.
This humidifier works well. Nice size and not too big. Quiet on low. Loud on high but most units are loud and expected that. Would have liked to seen this with a 3 or 4 fan speed too. Does a good job in keeping it just the right humidity for the rooms that I need moister right now. Turned it on high to get the level that felt right, then turned on low and seems to keep it near that moisture level. Put my other Multi-Room Essick in my large bedroom and no more coughing at night and get a great nights' sleep. Had a few questions for Essick customer service and they were Great! Thanks Essick and QVC . My two long-haired Chihauhua's thank you too."

"I have a small (500sf) studio apartment that gets dry when the heat goes on. I figured this "Whole House" humidifier might be overkill, but I've had it for two weeks now and haven't noticed any change -- still waking up to extremely dry air. In fact, the humidity reading on the machine has only changed a few points, from 30 to 32, even though I have the fan on high and the desired humidity up at 65 (the max level). I've read the instructions a few times so I know I'm using it correctly. Meanwhile, I have to fill it up with water every two days, and it's killing my back to lift the full container out of my tub.
So it's a lot of work to fill and takes up a lot of space and then doesn't actually make my air any more moist. If I hadn't thrown out the huge box, I'd send it back."

"This humidifier is super! We've had if for several months and couldn't be happier. We live in the mountains and the air is dry. My husband and I are prone to nose bleeds and dry skin without a humidifier. We run this humidifier from the time we get up in the morning until we go to bed at night. We run it on low, and it is very quiet. We run it on high when we are gone during the day. Yes, it is louder on high, but it is no louder than an air conditioner. It is easy to clean. We dump it on our deck, descale it with water and vinegar, dump the water on our deck (it's a great sanitizer), refill with water and bleach, dump on the deck (more sanitizing) and refill. We do this every other week. We roll it to the sink to fill -- use the sink hose. It is a breeze. Couldn't be happier. We used to use a small counter top humidifier. This one is far superior. It's easy to clean, rolls easily, it's quiet, and it adds moisture to the air. Couldn't ask more of a humidifier. Our home is about 1100 square feet. This is our primary humidifier. We use it downstairs and it takes care of the downstairs area. We have another small humidifier upstairs in the master bedroom."

Adequate but noisy!

"This humidifier is ok. We purchased it for our home because we have 2 kids age 2 and under and the dry air from our fireplace and heat causes them to be stuffy and congested. However, it did not work as well as our warm mist humidifier. It is quiet on low but on high it is VERY VERY noisy!!"

"Well we to have this and I must admit that it works Great Our house is bone dry in the colder weather as we have natural gas forced air heating system.
this Humidifier has a float system to prevent you from over filling it. It also has a removable front panel for easy filling and it has an overflow hole on the back side as well. On low it is VERY quiet ! I do not run it on high very much Low suits our needs just fine I am trying to add moisture to the air not make a rain forest! :) The digital read out is very clear and that I really like a LOT.
CONS: However the wicks fall apart easily( made from paper and hot melt glue) and they are not so easy to find.
When wicks are located they are a little on the costly side as well.
That is why my rating is 4 stars instead of 5"

"We have this in our living room and on low you can barely hear it run. At night when we go to bed we turn it on high which is much louder, but we leave the room so can't hear it. Our house was horribly dry, our skin was cracking and woodwork splitting. In three days it brought the humidity in the house up to 38% and it's still rising. Our skin feels so incredibley different, much softer. It's really doing the job well. We fill it once a day and it's easy because it has the front water reservoir.
