"I purchased this shredder roughly 3 months ago. I , unlike the previous reviewer, have had no trouble. I have been very pleased with this purchase. I worked in the office supply industry for 16 years and Fellowes is the best known and respected name in shredders. Confetti cut is what you want as opposed to strip cut to make it impossible for important info you shred to be put back together. I recommend to follow the instructions in the owners manual to use the shredder 5 minutes at a time. In other words, shred for 5 minutes let it rest and then come back later and shred some more. this will help to avoid problems and extend the life of the shredder."

"We used this four times before it completely broke down. Disappointed when we got it, the instructions said not to run the machine for more than 5 minutes per day. What? You've got to be kidding. We followed the instructions and have a large basket of papers left to be shredded because 5 minutes of shredding doesn't allow for much. Then, the fourth time we used it, it started making a terrible noise, skewed the paper sideways until it bunched up in the corner, then stopped completely. Now it just makes a terrible grinding metal noise even after days of no use and the papers are still stuck in there. Don't waste your money. We bought a good Royal shredder two years ago that was pretty good and lasted 6 months. We've tried three Royal shredders and this one since then and they've all failed miserably after only a few uses."
